August 13 @ 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm
ELISA Project - Zephyr project meetup (August 13, 2026)- Braunschweig, Germany

Philipp Ahmann of ETAS GmbH (Bosch), ELISA Project TSC Chair and Systems Working Group Chair, will attend the Zephyr Project Meetup on August 13, 2026, in Braunschweig, Germany.

Philipp will present “Zephyr in Safety-Critical Linux Architectures: Insights from ELISA.”

Zephyr is often associated with IoT devices where it serves as the primary operating system. However, safety-critical systems increasingly combine multiple software platforms to meet performance, isolation, and certification requirements.

Drawing on activities and experiences from the ELISA Project, the talk will explore how Zephyr can complement Linux and hypervisors such as Xen within larger system architectures. It will also discuss emerging architectural patterns, the role of RTOS technologies in safety-oriented systems, and how open source communities are working together to address these challenges.
